Terms of Service

Last updated: March 4, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using SalaryCheckup ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SalaryCheckup is a client-side salary and tax calculator that provides estimated take-home pay calculations for the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom. All calculations are performed entirely within your browser β€” no data is transmitted to any server.

3. No Tax or Financial Advice

The calculations and results provided by SalaryCheckup are estimates only and are based on publicly available tax brackets, rates, and thresholds projected for the 2026 tax year. They do not constitute tax advice, financial advice, or legal counsel.

Actual tax withholding may differ based on your individual circumstances, including but not limited to: specific deductions, credits, allowances, employer-specific policies, changes in tax law, and regional variations not captured by our models.

Always consult a qualified tax professional or financial advisor for decisions related to your personal tax obligations.

4. Accuracy Disclaimer

While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranties or guarantees regarding the correctness, completeness, or reliability of any calculation results. Tax laws are complex and subject to change. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

5. Data Privacy

SalaryCheckup operates entirely client-side. No personal or financial data you enter is transmitted to, stored on, or processed by any external server. All calculations happen locally in your browser. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code of SalaryCheckup are the intellectual property of SalaryCheckup. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit permission.

7. Use Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use the Service to misrepresent tax obligations to employers, tax authorities, or any third party
  • Attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the Service

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SalaryCheckup and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or reliance on the Service, including but not limited to financial decisions made based on calculation results.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
